When I first accidentally happened upon Jeannie Tagle’s Halloween haunt in 2011 (and met her for the first time), I asked if I could take pictures and whether she would mind posing in the display. She promptly changed into a slasher victim costume, applied soul eater fangs, grabbed an alien fetus specimen jar, and lowered herself into a coffin balanced precariously on a pair of sawhorses. I knew this would to be the beginning of a beautiful friendship!
In recent years, Jeannie added a sort of horror show fun house tent in her driveway with lots of animated figures, ghoulish sounds, and live characters on Halloween night.
All year long Jeannie’s on the lookout for new materials and ideas and she always makes big changes to her display from year to year. Due to a number of medical procedures, Jeannie intends that her 2021 yard-filling extravaganza will be her last of that scale, but that she’ll continue to due up her front yard and porch. We’ll see if she can really scale herself down, but its been a great run and lots of fun for her many visitors (except for the occasional child that runs away in tears). Even if it’s scaled-down in future years, I’m sure Jeannie’s sense of humor and re-inventiveness will not disappoint!
