As of 2025, Charles Wince’s Mother Russia Meltdown remains in progress.  It fills one of Wince’s bedroom walls – he wakes up to it daily and often sees refinements that need to be made. Teeming with symbolism and discrete cultural events (such as the Kennedy assassination), the painting seems to vividly chronicle in fine detail the implosion of the communist ideal as well as the decadent and violent consumer culture of the West. Wince’s bed board is a sculptural interpretation of the painting, and he has made small independent paintings as well as a mock reflection on the inside of a bedroom cabinet door based on details from the painting.
